Description
(RE)ORIENT: Ignite is the second volume of an Asian-identity based publication at Washington University in St. Louis. The publication includes creative and academic works with the goal of "igniting" the political consciousness amongst WashU students. Together with a team of 11 Asians Demanding Justice members, we curated the publication's content, led promotional campaigns, designed each page of the publication, and produced 50 bound copies of an abridged version. Within the first weekend of the publication's launch, our digital version reached over 1,400 undergraduate students.
As the publication's Art Director, I led and crafted the publication's visual identity that reflected the theme and tone. Additionally, I designed the publication's front and back covers, table of contents, and spreads that conveyed Asians Demanding Justice's opening and closing thoughts. Lastly, I mocked up versatile spread templates that my teammates used to compile the submitted content. This was one of the most meaningful projects I've worked on, as I had an opportunity to bridge my passion for social justice organizing with my design skills.
