Driving Adoption of AI-Features into Dropbox's Share Modal
Sharing is one of Dropbox's most-used surfaces, which makes it a powerful place to introduce Stacks, a new AI feature that organizes related files and content into customizable, summarized pages. The opportunity was also the challenge: surfacing an unfamiliar capability inside a high-traffic, high-stakes flow without adding friction, and giving users a clear reason to try it.
I designed and prototyped how users add a folder's contents to a Stack directly within the sharing experience. From the share surface, a user selects "Add to Stack," searches or browses their existing stacks, and drops in content. To drive adoption, I paired the flow with a tooltip hover state that introduces the AI features through abstract product UI, showing how they help users consolidate content across cloud platforms and collaborate more effectively with their teams.
